During the pandemic, the Pascua Yaqui Tribe received a grant to build their own broadband & telecommunications network on the reservation to provide PYT Tribal Members with high-speed Internet service from Pascua Yaqui Networks.

In late 2022, PYT received another grant to expand its network into the Guadalupe, Old Pascua, Tortuga, Barrio Libre, Marana & Coolidge communities.

The community benefits from the access to the broadband network in multiple ways:

  • Enables online learning
  • Strengthens tele-medicine
  • Augments Government services
  • Work from Home
  • Economic Development
  • Mobile Connections for 1st Responders, Public Works & other essential workers

For fixed wireless internet, an antenna panel is installed on the outside of your residence and then a Wi-Fi router will be installed inside your home. There are some areas in PYT Housing where fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) has been installed and service available to those residents.

We have partnered with Native Network, a company that specializes in building tribal networks to conduct these installations.
